Viagra for women?

“Viagra for women?” is the frequently asked question around the world, since 40 percent of women have sexual concerns and knowing that the erectile dysfunction blue pill has been very effective in men’s ability to have sustained erection for successful and satisfying intercourse.

Pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, which brought the wonder drug Viagra to the world, has spent a lot of money, tried, and failed. Investigators said female biology is so much more complicated than men’s, whose deficiency is erection. Viagra increases the flow to the penis allowing it to fill-up and engorge with blood, which results in erection. In women, the sexual deficiency “includes not only lack of libido or desire, but arousal and orgasm, or satisfaction,” report most studies. This was why the “male erection pill” has not been approved by the US-FDA for use by women, although this pills also induces engorgement and erection of the clitoris.

A new 12-week study on 202 post-menopausal or post-hysterectomy women showed that the anti-impotence drug viagra provided overall sexual satisfaction compared to those who were given placebo. Obviously, the clitoral engorgement helps. While it did not address all the sexual problems in women, this study offers hope for many. Medically, ED pills cialis and levitra have the same mechanics of action.

“Their enhanced sex lives included better arousal, lubrication and orgasm,” reports Laura Berman, director of the Berman Center and a professor of OB-GYN and psychiatry at Northwestern University in Chicago, and Dr. Jennifer Berman, director of the Female Sexual Medicine Center at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, who added that the anti-impotent pills “cannot overcome mental and emotional barriers to a satisfying sex life… the study results are preliminary.” The stringent criteria of the US-FDA require more studies and clinical confirmation before approving this pill for use in women.

Since viagra, cialis, levitra and any medication, including aspirin, could have some possible adverse effects, do not take any drugs without physician supervision.

Excision without incision

Cutting out tumors without incision? “Impossible!” would be the usual and logical reaction. But with the state-of-the-art mind-boggling technology we currently have, and improving by leaps and bounds as time goes by, many inspiring science fiction gadgetry of yesteryears have become realities of today. Thank God for granting us the privilege to experience and benefit from these wonders of science, medicine, and technology.

A report a couple of years ago stated that “Israel’s InSightec is transforming the operating room with a new ultrasound technology that enables surgeons to destroy tumors and cysts without incisions” with its ExAblate MRI-guided high-intensity ultrasound.

This new tool in the surgical armamentarium allows doctors to obliterate targets, like tumors and uterine cysts, located inside deep in the abdomen, without incisions, and relieve pain caused by bone cancers, which heretofore were treated by radiation.

“Meanwhile, InSightec’s related product, ExAblate Neuro, recently received the CE Mark in Europe for the treatment of three common neurological disorders: essential tremor, neuropathic pain and Parkinson’s di sease tremors,” while keeping the skull intact, the report elaborated. This is also expected to be the treatment of choice for epilepsy in the future.  ExAlblate appears to have limitless applications for variety of diseases.

Worldwide independent laboratory and clinical studies on ExAblate are going on to confirm its initial efficacy and safety.

False advertising is illegal

The Supreme Court of the United States recently ruled that food and beverage companies can be sued for false advertising if they have on their product labels data that would “mislead and trick the consumers.” And that goes true with over-the-counter medications and supplements to protect the unsuspecting consumers. The trillion-dollar industry manufacturing pills and potions advertised as “food supplements” and herbals are forewarned. Many times, they border on marketing their products as “good, effective, and safe” for countless diseases, albeit without any research and scientific evidence to support their claims, thus victimizing millions of innocent, gullible, consumers worldwide.

Air hand dryer spreading bacteria?

Jet air hand and face dryers are becoming more and more popular in toilets in many countries. But are they really more hygienic and safer in reducing bacterial contamination, the very reason for the introduction of jet air dryers for public bathrooms?

Studies have now shown this may not be the case.

“The jet air-dryers spewed out bacteria counts that were 27 times higher than when people dried their hands using paper towels,” says one report that was published in the Journal of Hospital Infection that “airborne bacteria counts were 4½  times higher near high-powered jet air-dryers than around less-forceful warm-air dryers. The residual bacteria from the hands are obviously blown around the bathroom.

The recent findings confirmed the 2012 Australian (a review of 12 previous independent studies) published in the journal of the Mayo Clinic, which concluded that paper towels “1) dry hands efficiently, 2) remove bacteria effectively and 3) cause less contamination in washrooms… paper towels are more hygienic than electric air dryers and recommended for use in all hospital settings.”

Excess weight raises cancer risk
The heavier we are, pounds higher than what is normal for us, increases the risk for cancer, besides many other diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke and Alzheimer’s.

There are almost half a million newly diagnosed cancers per year could be related to high body mass index (BMI), according to the International Agency for research on Cancer, published in The Lancet Oncology. The study says that about 3.6 percent of the total global cancer is linked to overweight and obesity, especially in developed nations. In 2012 alone in North America, there were about 111,000 cases (23 percent of the global data) of obesity-related cancer patients, while there were 65,000 cases in Eastern Europe (6.5 percent of the global figure). While there were less in Asian countries, the link between BMI and cancer are still significant.

A scientific fact: All the prisoners of all wars, from World War I to the most recent, lost weight because they ate very little.

Indeed, controlling quality and amount of food can help our program to achieve and maintain normal BMI.

We must all try our best to have a healthy weight through the safe natural way—proper diet and exercise—without using “weight-reduction food supplement pills and herbs,” which could have deadly complications in the long run, as evidenced by some reported fatalities among users.
