President of Castilla – La Mancha, Maria Dolores de Cospedal, has commended the vineyard of Grupo Emperador Spain S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emperador, Inc., in Toledo, Spain because of its pioneering efforts to achieve major modernization in vineyard operation and management that can boost grape production and generate employment in the region. The 500-hectare specialized vineyard project, operated by Bodega Las Copas S.L. (a 50/50 percent joint venture company between Emperador and González Byass), is the first-of-its-kind in Spain to grow the finest grapes dedicated exclusively for brandy distillation and production. The vineyard uses sustainable, state-of the-art technology, an innovation that improves the company’s efficiency in producing top quality brandy.
