LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu—The Lapu-Lapu City Government has already started the distribution of Christmas cash gifts to Senior Citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) on Monday, December 12, 2022.
The city government has allocated P154.035 million for the said purpose.
Earlier, the city council approved the giving of a P4,000 Christmas cash gift to senior citizens and P3,000 to PWDs.
The city has allocated P131.172 million for the 32,793 senior citizens and P22.863 million for the city’s 7,621 PWDs.
The distribution will last until December 14 in all 30 barangays on the mainland and Olango island.
Those who will not be able to claim their gifts, however, can still claim the said amount after the New Year, especially the bedridden.
On Monday, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) said 2,480 PWDs already claimed their Christmas cash gifts.
Meanwhile, field officers of CSWDO have not yet submitted the partial list of senior citizens who already received their cash gifts.
Aside from this, senior citizens who were celebrating their birthdays in December also received additional P1,000 each.
