MANDAUE CITY, Cebu—The security plan for Misa de Gallo in the municipality of Consolacion is now in place.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Danilo Colipano, the chief of the Consolacion Municipal Police Station, said they have already prepared procedures to implement the security plan.

They have also already coordinated with the 21 barangays to ask for assistance of village watchmen (tanods) and force multipliers in securing the town.

They will be focusing on the three parishes in the town, namely the San Narciso Parish in Poblacion Occidental, St. Joseph Husband of Mary Parish in Barangay Tayud, and San Isidro Parish in Barangay Garing.

Police will also monitor chapels that will hold dawn masses.

The police station chief said they will also set up a Police Assistance Desk in each church.

Colipano added that mobile patrollers will also roam around with the new tactical motorcycle units that will be tasked to penetrate interior portions of the barangays.

He also reminded the those who will attend the dawn masses to be very careful and make sure to close their homes before leaving or ask neighbors to watch their houses while they’re gone.

He said thieves can take advantage of this season to strike homes left without occupants.

Meanwhile, Engr. Danny Capangpangan, head of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said that a rescue team will be placed in front of San Narciso Parish during Misa De Gallo.
