CEBU CITY, Philippines — As of today, a total of 76 vessels have registered to join this year’s Fiesta Señor Fluvial Procession. 

Lieutenant Junior Grade Stephen Pagcaliwagan of the Philippine Coast Guard in Central Visayas (PCG-7) said that they would still would still accommodate those who would want to register for this religious activity, which would happen on Jan. 14, 2022. 

To register, Pagcaliwanagan said that they would require the following documents.

First is the Passenger Ship Safety Certificate, Certificate of Public Convenience, Manning Certificate, and clear copies of the identification cards of the boat captains and the operator for those ships below 35 gross tonnage. 

Members of the Task Force Coast Guard District Central Visayas Sinulog 2023 will also conduct the final briefing for those who will attend the religious event. 

Pagcaliwagan said they would give guidelines to captains, skippers, and others for the dos and don’ts during the conduct of this activity. 

A dry run for the fluvial procession is also set this Jan. 11, in coordination with the Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino, so that the participating vessels could assess the route of the procession including the safety measures implemented for this religious activity. 

The Coast Guard’s BRP Cabra is this year’s official galleon for the fluvial procession. This will carry the blessed images of Señor Sto. Niño de Cebu and the Our Lady of Guadalupe. 

Further, the boats and other sea vessels that are set to join the event will sail up to seas fronting the South Road Properties (SRP), passing under the iconic Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
