CEBU CITY, Philippines—To give way to Sinulog 2023 contingents’ entry and preparations, the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) will start implementing temporary road closure at the South Road Properties (SRP) at 1 a.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023, until the end of the festival.

With this, vehicles traveling from south of Cebu to the Cebu City mainland are advised to take N. Bacalso Avenue.

Atty. Rico Rey Francis Holganza, Cebu City Traffic Management Board chairman, said vehicles from the Barangay Mambaling side can still pass through towards the SRP viaduct, but it would only be one-way.

Holganza said they will be implementing four entrance points going to SRP for  those transporting spectators on Sunday. These are the entrances from the Talisay City side, SRP viaduct, Cebu Cordova Link Expressways, and Barangay Mambaling.

“Ang Mambaling lang, mao na siya, practically ang mahug nga one-way. Naa na tay in-general nga traffic plan, nagkuan lang tag ginagmay nga fine-tuning. Usa sa among gi-consider is four lanes man ang F. Vestil Street pasud, ang usa nga gi-consider is pwede tulo (of the lanes) pasulod and naay usa lang i-reserve nga open for emergency kung unsa man,” he said.

“Naay gitiwas nga bridge for sakyanan nga ari ka mugawas sa may Cabreros St. Pang exit ra to siya,” he added.

Holganza also said that delivery trucks of establishments located at the SRP can still enter after the road closure at 1 a.m., but they will be using a different access or a service road.
