Mandaue City, Cebu–Part of MC Briones Street in Mandaue City was closed to traffic on Thursday evening, March 30, 2023, due to the damaged skywalk near Pacific Mall in Barangay Maguikay.
According to enforcers in the area, a truck hit the skywalk on Thursday, damaging its beam and posing a threat to passing motorists.

Traffic congestion has since been experienced in roads around the area as vehicular traffic has been rerouted due to road closures near the skywalk.

On Friday, the local government has placed scaffolding support to keep the skywalk from falling. the stretch of MC Briones Street from the foot of the Maguikay flyover to the intersection of UN Avenue and MC Briones (fronting Pacific Mall) continues to be closed pending repairs of the skywalk.
