Tents and sleeping kits (mats, blankets and mosquito nets) donated by the private sector were sent to families in southern Cebu, left homeless after typhoon Seniang swept through southern Cebu late last year.
The supplies are being delivered by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
LDS Charities, the humanitarian arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints sent 150 tents to the towns of Barili, Dumanjug, Alcantara, Ronda, and Alegria.
The PDRRMO also delivered 2,000 jerry cans and sleeping kits from the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, as well as 930 kitchen kits.
As of Jan. 5, Barili reported 24 destroyed houses; Dumanjug, 67; and Ronda, 48.
According to Jairus Perez, LDS Charities project manager, church members prepared 1,200 cooking and sleeping kits for the families.
Each kit has a pot, a frying pan, spoon and fork, plates, and a ladle.
LDS also provided mobile water filtration systems to produce clean drinking water for the affected residents.
