Mandaue City Hall to probe patient’s death

The Mandaue City government condoles with the family of Jocelyn Coliflores who died at a hospital after being admitted there for fever.

The city government is investigating reports that she died due to alleged erroneous diagnosis and treatment of doctors there.

Cesar Colifores, Jocelyn’s husband, uploaded a video in his Facebook account of his wife getting hysterical after Cefuroxime sodium, an antibiotic,  was administered to her.

Jocelyn in the video was heared asking her son to take a video of her and that she will sue the doctor who attended to her.  She was shown to be having a hard time breathing.

“Dili na nako kaya, ila ko gipapatay. Ikiha ta mo hasta ang mga (I cannot take it anymore. They’re killing me. File charges including the) doctor,” she said.  She was later given Dipenhydramine after she was noticed shouting.

Cesar said his wife died 30 minutes after receiving medication last January 2. The video has been viewed 224,924 times as of 4 p.m. Friday.

The death certificate of the patient shows that Jocelyn died of ruptured cerebral aneurysm. But an autopsy report by the Philippine National Police said the cause of death is sudden cardiac arrest.
