‘Takyan’ takes center stage

A tournament featuring the popular Filipino street game, takyan (sipa) was held last Sunday at the Guadalupe Sports Complex.

The tournament was  participated by competitors from various public schools and barangays of Cebu City.

Organized by the Cebu-based KCT Sports and Tourism Foundation, the tournament, dubbed “KCT Sports and Tourism Foundation: First Takyan Tournament,” aimed to promote our own cultural sports to the youth and at the same time promote local tourist spots.

In the 16-under division, Jeremiah Gadasa of Barangay Banilad emerged the best while Luisito Bontilao lorded the open division.

On April 19, KCT Sports and Tourism Foundation plans to hold the second year of the Chinese  garter tournament.

The tournament will be open to all male and female students aged 16-years and below.
