TWO Cebu mayors criticized the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for their “lack of coordination” in the identification and implementation of projects in their respective government units.
Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr. and Dumanjug Mayor Nelson Garcia spoke out against the agency during yesterday’s meeting of the Provincial Development Council (PDC).
“We’ve only known about these [projects] now and there’s nothing we can do anymore,” Martinez said in reference to a DPWH road-widening project that damaged P30 million worth of streetlights that the Bogo City government installed.
Engr. James Dellosa of DPWH 3rd district engineering office said the mayors only sent their engineers in a coordination meeting held last November 5.
