Mayor Rama Cup swimfest unfolds today

A TOTAL of 230 swimmers coming from 14 swimming clubs from all over the country will vie for supremacy today in the first ever Mayor Michael Rama Cup Invitational Age-Group Swimming Championship at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) pool.

The tournament which will be hosted by Cebu’s very own Cebu Blue Marlins, has attracted a huge number of competitors due to the ongoing Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) meet whose swimming event is held at the CCSC.

Balamban, a municipality in southwest Cebu is this year’s CVIRAA host.

The competing swimming clubs include the Bohol Swimming Team, University of Bohol Rockets, Kaamulan Aquatics, Binirayan Tadpoles of Antique, Ilo-ilo Sea Warriors, Tangub Aqua Flyers, Pana-ad Swim Club, University of San Carlos (USC), Indiana Swimming Team, Negros Oriental Blue Dolphins, Siliman University , Monterey School of Learning, Colegio del Santo Niño and the Cebu City Niños.
