A Filipino crew member on the cruise ship Viking Mars died in a fall from the cruise ship while it was docked at the Port of Cromarty Firth in Scotland on Friday, Aug. 18.

Wenceslao Esguerra Donasco, in his 40s, reportedly fell when securing the gangway from deck 2 and hit the pier side. He was reportedly transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance. He died a few hours later.

Donasco, a Filipino national, was a Seaman / Fireman on board the vessel

In a tribute to the crew member, a special commemoration was organized on the Viking Mars allowing his colleagues to bid a final farewell and express their deepest condolences.
