CEBU CITY, Philippines – Hundreds of spectators flocked to Carcar City to witness this year’s edition of the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

The event, dubbed as the ‘festival of festivals’, took place in Carcar City Sports Complex. It kicked off with the Street Dance competition where at least 50 contingents paraded along the New Diversion Road in the city.

While the start of the Street Dance was greeted with light rains, performers like Dave Tecson said they were grateful the weather improved a short while later.

“Ganina nag uwan-uwan man. Mas ganahan mi nga muinit kaysa sa uwan. Nakauyon ra ang panahon,” said Tecson, who is part of the contingen from Boljoon town in southern Cebu.
However, as the Street Dance progressed throughout the day, some performers of the Pasigarbo 2023 needed medical attention.
Several of them fainted while waiting for their turn to perform in the competition under the afternoon heat.
