CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama expressed his support to Cebu governor Gwen Garcia during the flag ceremony on Monday, September 4, 2023, at the Plaza Sugbo grounds.
Rama said that he talked with Governor Garcia Sunday night, September 3, about his trip to Russia.
He said he told the governor that he will go to Vladivostok in Russia for a speaking engagement. He will be attending the 8th Eastern Economic Forum from September 10 to 13, according to the Cebu City public information office.
‘One Cebu’
“Gov, I can assure you I will bring One Cebu island to Russia,” he said.
“We should not be thinking that we are not part of the island. On whatever happened, whatever happened, I have been telling her, ‘I will stand for you through thick and thin because you are my younger sister,” Rama said.
Rama shared that he is scheduled to travel to Manila today, Monday, to meet with the investors to check and ask for updates on their investments in the city.
He began his “invest begging” in August 2022, to bring more investors and to achieve his dream of having a Singapore-like city.
He recently arrived from his trip from America to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at Hollywood’s America Excellence Awards last August 20 in Hollywood, California, USA.
