MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) released a memorandum extending the validity of driver’s and conductor’s expired licenses from April 3, 2023 to April 1, 2024.

In a public advisory on Facebook on Thursday, LTO declared that the validity of these licenses will be extended to April 2, 2024, or until it obtained an adequate supply of plastic cards.

Moreover, no penalties will not be collected for the licenses expiring on that date.

For renewal, the memorandum stressed that the system-generated-license official receipt (OR) will be stamped with “Valid as temporary driver’s license until plastic card is released.”

LTO said that the renewed license will contain the following:

Old or expired licenses, on the other hand, will be returned to their owners and shall remain valid until replaced by a new plastic card.

On September 4, Agri Rep. Wilbert Lee suggested extending license validity — which LTO Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II later confirmed.
