CEBU CITY, Philippines—(UPDATED, 7:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11) Two fires broke out in Barangay Tejero here on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

The first fire hit a residential area in U. Alviola Street, Sitio Back Blessed,  Brgy. Tejero, on Sunday afternoon.

The fire was said to have affected at least 15 houses, nine of them totally burned, in a 200 square-meter area.

Damages were estimated at P2.4 million.  Firefighters raised the first Tejero fire to the 2nd alarm at 1:54 p.m It was placed under control at 2:09 p.m. Fire out was declared at 2:15 p.m.

One was said to have been injured in the first fire, a report from Cebu City fire said.

 

Another fire in Tejero

The second Tejero fire burned at least 14 homes in a 350 square-meter area, fire official said.

According to F01 Michael John Nable of the Cebu City Fire Station, the fire along U. Alviola Street in sitio Laurente also partially burned six others houses.

Damage to properties caused by the fire was pegged at P4.2 million. 

The fire was reported 8:03 p.m. and was raised to 3rd alarm at 8:26 p.m. The fire was placed under control at 8:44 p.m and fire out at 8:50 p.m.

No one was reported injured in this fire.
