LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The Lapu-Lapu City Government is holding a two-day Kadiwa Retail Fair and Agri-Fishery Fair from September 14-15, 2023.
The Kadiwa fair was part of the city’s celebration of the 123rd Civil Service Month, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture (DA)-7.
The Kadiwa Agri-Fishery Fair is in the parking area of the city hall.
“Pasalamat mi’g dako kay kaming mga Oponganon, maka-benepisyo sa barato ug presko kaayo nga baligya,” Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said.
Fifteen stalls of different cooperatives and organizations from neighboring cities and municipalities in Cebu Province are participating in the agri-fishery fair.
Among the groups who participated in the agric-fishery fair were Cebu Mushroom Growers Agriculture Cooperative from Mandaue City; Agri-Pino from Mandaue; Carson Hills Agriculture Farm from Borbon; First Consolidated Cooperative, along Tañon Seaboards in Toledo City; Pestales Agriculture Cooperative in Argao; Ulay Agro-Industrial Enterprise in Dalaguete; Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Pinamungajan; and Compostela Market Vendors Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
Arapal Livelihood Center Incorporated in Bogo City; the Sogod Federation of Farmers and Fishermen Association in Sogod; the Cambinocot Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Cebu City; the Ultra-Bio Corporation in Balamban; the Macaban Kakaw Crayolo and Lubi Netibo Agriculture Cooperative from Inabanga, Bohol; the Lamac Coco Hub in Tuburan; and Verdant Hills Fresh Milk from Barangay Guba, Cebu City, also joined the activity.
“Pasalamat pud ta kay makatabang pud sa manindahay labi na sa atong lokal dinhi sa Lapu-Lapu nga gipatilaw kita sa ilang mga product,” he added.
Meanwhile, the City Agriculture and Fisheries Office (CAFO) also sold fresh bangus that were newly harvested from the city-assisted fish cages in Barangay Canjulao.
“We will support local products; that’s one way pud nga mapa kita nila ang klase klase nila nga mga produkto, ilang panginabuhian, especially the LCLRC, the cooperative and livelihood for the women, maoy atong gi-showcase karon,” he added.
The Kadiwa fair was also attended by Dr. Melquides Ibarra, Chief Admin and Finance Division of DA-7; and Dr. Lorelei Acha, acting chief of the Agri-Business Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD). /rcg
