MP Promotions boxer
Magsayo, who fights under MP Promotions of Manny Pacquiao, tagged his manager Sean Gibbons and his trainer Marvin Somodio on his Facebook announcement.
Besides his announcement of moving up to the super featherweight division, Magsayo also hinted on his upcoming fight this year.
It can be recalled that Gibbons already hinted that Magsayo might move to the super featherweight division after losing to the Mexican Figueroa via unanimous decision for the WBC interim world featherweight title last March.

Lost to Figueroa
The Boholano boxer hasn’t fought since March this year. His attempt to fight for a world title anew came up short when he lost to Figueroa last March in Ontario, California.
Before losing to Figueroa, Magsayo also lost his WBC world featherweight title to the veteran Rey Vargas in July 2022 via split decision.
Magsayo was unbeaten after the string of defeats in the past two years. He has a record of 24 wins with 16 knockouts and two defeats.
He is currently training with Somodio at the Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, California.
