LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The Municipality of Cordova had temporarily suspended the conduct of Caravan of Services.
This was confirmed by Mayor Cesar “Didoy” Suan in line with the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections.
Suan said that the Commission of Elections (COMELEC) has prohibited the conduct of this kind of activity, to avoid it from being politicized.

Why Caravan of Services is temporarily halted
“Ako lang ipahibawo sa atong constituents ug Barangay Captains nga atoa sang ihunong atong Caravan of Services,” Suan said.
(I would like to inform our constituents and barangay captains that we need to stop our Caravan of Services.)
“Bawal sa ang paghatag karon ug mga serbisyo nga maigo nga apil sa pagpamolitika, mao na nga motuman lang sa ta sa balaod,” he added.
(It is prohibited to give services because these will be branded that we are engaging in politics, that is why we will just follow the law.)

Four Cordova barangays
Suan said that currently, only four barangays were not yet visited by the town’s “Caravan of Sevices.”
Caravan of Services is a program implemented by the town to bring the basic services at the doorstep of every barangay.
Suan added that the Caravan of Services would return after the election or in the month of November.
