CEBU CITY, Philippines — A portion of the northbound lane of Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City will be temporarily closed for 20 days from October 2 to 22, 2023.
The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) announced on Saturday evening, September 30, the road closure from the corner of N. Escario Street to the corner of J. Avila Street as part of the ongoing construction of the Capitol bus station for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
The CCTO said in its advisory on Facebook, they will implement diversion routes for northbound public utility jeepneys (PUJs) and private vehicles.
Meanwhile, they will retain the existing diversion routes for southbound PUJs to Fuente Osmeña.

For PUJs
For the PUJs bound to Barangay Apas (or to IT Park) and Lahug, once they take Osmeña Boulevard, they will take a right turn to MP Yap Street, then left turn to Juana Osmeña Street, and take a right turn to N. Escario Street which will lead them back to the original route to their destination.
Meanwhile, for PUJs bound to Oprra, once they take Osmeña Boulevard, they will take a right turn to MP Yap Street, then left turn to Juana Osmeña Street, next is left turn to N. Escario Street, then take a right turn to Villalon Drive and it will lead them to their destination.
For PUJs bound to Barangay Guadalupe and Banawa, from Osmeña Boulevard, they will take a left turn to J. Avila Street, then right turn to M. Cui Street, then take a right turn to N. Escario Street, then left turn to G. Garcia Street, and finally, another left turn to M. Velez Street to proceed to their destination.

For private vehicles
For the private vehicles bound to Barangay Apas (or to IT Park) and Lahug, they should take Osmeña Boulevard, then take a right turn to J. Avila Street, and then left turn to F. Ramos Extension, and finally, take a right turn to N. Escario Street to their destination.
Meanwhile, for those who are bound to Oprra, once they take Osmeña Boulevard, they should take a right turn to J. Avila Street, and then left turn to F. Ramos Extension, then proceed to Villalon Drive to go to their destination.
Lastly, for those private vehicles that are bound to Barangay Guadalupe and Banawa, once they take the Osmeña Boulevard, they should take a left turn to J. Avila Street, then right turn to M. Cui Street, next is right turn N. Escario Street, then left turn to G. Garcia Street, and finally, another left turn to M. Velez Street which will lead them to their destination.
“The Cebu City government, through the CCTO is asking for the public’s understanding and patience for the inconvenience that the road closure and diversion in relation to the Cebu BRT Project may result,” CCTO said in its advisory.
On September 22, CCTO first announced a 20-day road closure in the southbound lane of Osmeña Boulevard from September 24 to October 14.
