The two motorists involved in a road rage in Barangay Marigondon on Monday, October 2, were ordered to pay their fines or risk being hailed to court.

Mario Napuli, head of Lapu-Lapu City Traffic Management System (CTMS) said the two road rage protagonists – a taxi driver and a habal-habal driver – were issued citation tickets for obstruction during their fistfight.

Napuli said that they had given the drivers seven days to settle their fines ranging from P500 to P1,000, or else they will pursue filing a complaint in court.

How to prevent road rage: Drivers say patience, knowledge of safety rules are important

The one peso provisional jeepney fare hike is simply not enough, jeepney drivers in Cebu City said.

On Tuesday, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved the additional P1 on jeepney fares both for modern and traditional, effective October 8.

This means that the minimum P12 fare for traditional jeepneys would be P13, while the P14 minimum fare for modern jeepneys would be P15.

However, local drivers said the increase would have little effect on them in light of the soaring fuel prices.

PRO-7 director to police personnel: Do not meddle with politics

In other news, the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas is reminding its personnel to be apolitical and not to meddle with the campaign sorties of candidates running for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections 2023.

This reminder was issued by Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, the director of the regional police, during the assumption of office ceremony of the new provincial director of the Cebu Police Provincial Office.

During his speech, Aberin reminded police officers to exercise their duties properly and to remain neutral in terms of politics.

Kris Aquino hurt after Mark Leviste shared ‘unwanted pictures’ with Phillip Salvador

Kris Aquino admitted that she was hurt after Mark Leviste posted photos on social media with Phillip Salvador, the father of her eldest son Josh, with the actress noting that she has only aired “a very cleansed version” of her side of the story.

Aquino said this in response to the Batangas vice governor’s now-deleted “thank you” comment on the former’s earlier post, wherein she clarified that she is currently “not in a relationship” with anyone.

Leviste earned Aquino’s ire after the former shared photos of him and Salvador on social media.

The first photo, posted via Instagram Stories in August, was when Leviste and Salvador met during an event for the Batangas Provincial Hospital, while the second photo was taken during the 50th anniversary of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ in September. Leviste appeared to have taken down the second photo from his Instagram page.
