CEBU CITY, Philippines— Cebu City came out on top in the Philippines’ most improved rankings for highly urbanized cities in 2023.
Its overall ranking improved from 24th to 13th, where it was the previous year.

This is indeed great news for all Cebuanos who take pride in loving the Queen City of the South.
CDN Digital asked our ka-Siloys what they think is the most improved thing about the city and in the best Cebuano humor and jest most of them answered something contrary to an improvement.
They were talking about the worsening flooding situation in the city.
Recently, heavy downpours were experienced and in some parts of the city, the floods were the highlight.
While we may be making fun of Cebu City’s flooding woes, we too can alleviate in our own ways whether big or small.
First off, we can make sure to dispose of all our garbage in the right places so as not to clog up our drainages.
It is evident that Cebu City’s citizens continue to face the highs and lows of progress.
The city’s transformation is far from over, and it’s this spirit that will undoubtedly carry them through whatever challenges lie ahead. /rcg
