CEBU CITY, Philippines — The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers overpowered the Felipe Verallo Foundation College (FVFC) Blue Dragons, 84-57, on Thursday night, for their third straight win in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) men’s basketball at the Cebu Coliseum.
The victory puts UV in the No. 2 spot tying with the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) Panthers with their 3-0 win-loss cards.
Meanwhile, the Blue Dragons remain winless and slumped to their third straight loss.
UV’s rookies led the mighty Green Lancers scoring.

They went on to end the quarter with an 18-point cushion, 27-9.
The Blue Dragons of head coach Titing Manalili managed to cut the Green Lancers’ lead to 14, 25-39, heading into halftime.
In the second half, they pulled themselves to just 12 points, 27-39, but that was the last time the Blue Dragons could get that close to UV.
The Green Lancers took the last breath of the Blue Dragons after unloading a 24-11 run to stretch their lead to 27, 65-38, heading into the final period.
Instead of showing mercy, the Green Lancers upped the tempo in the fourth by grabbing a 36-point advantage, 82-46, their biggest in the match after unloading another blistering 17-8 run. /rcg
