UV Green Lancers to face Cesafi newbies FVFC Blue Dragons on Oct. 12
CEBU CITY, Philippines — The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers plan to stretch their winning streak by taking on the newcomers, the Felipe Verallo Foundation College (FVFC) Blue Dragons, as they collide in the men’s basketball of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Green Lancers, the reigning men’s basketball champions of the Cesafi, are fresh from a dominant game against the Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT-U) Wildcats, 90-60, last Saturday, October 7, 2023.

UV Green Lancers at No. 3 spot
That victory improved the Gary Cortes coached Green Lancers’ record to 2-0 (win-loss), putting them at the No. 3 spot in the team standings, where they are tied with the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters.
Contrastingly, the Blue Dragons of head coach Titing Manalili is seeking for that elusive win after losing their first two games.

Blue Dragons still winless
Their most previous game was against the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors last October 8, 2023. They lost to the Warriors, 40-56, putting them at the ninth spot in the team standings ahead of CIT-U (0-3) and University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons (0-4).
The tip-off of UV and Verallo’s men’s basketball game is at 6:45 PM.

Greywolves vs. Wildkittens
Meanwhile, the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Greywolves and the CIT-U Wildkittens will play in the high school division at 5:15 PM.
Both teams are winless with DBTC having a 0-3 card, while CIT-U with 0-1 slate.
DBTC suffered their third straght loss in the hands of the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) Baby Panthers, 60-99, last October 8.
Meanwhile, CIT-U debuted this season with a defeat from the UV Baby Green Lancers, 53-86, last September 30.
