CEBU CITY, Philippines — The construction worker, who went on a drunken rampage and hacked a woman then wounded a man with a hard object, has been arrested and charged.
Arnel Pineng, 33, was arrested a day after his attacks in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City, and has been detained at the Talamban Police Station.
Authorities said that frustrated murder charges had already been filed against the suspect at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.

Woman, who took video of drunk man, hacked
Initial investigation showed that a drunk Pineng was brandishing a bolo and trying to cause a disturbance in Highway 77 in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City at past 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 15.
One of the victims, Zarlyn General Nuyad, 43, took a video of the suspect while he was trying to cause a disturbance.
When the suspect Pineng saw her taking a video of him, he approached Nuyad and then hacked her, hitting her in the left arm.
Pineng then fled after hacking Nuyad and bringing with him the 11-inch bolo he used in the attack.
Nuyad was rushed to the hospital for treatment and when police arrived in the area where the victim was attacked the suspect was no longer there.

Drunk man hit victim on the head
At past 10 p.m., the suspect returned to the area near Highway 77. This time he was not armed with a bolo.
When he saw man passing by, he approached him and without any reason, hit the man on the head with a hard object.
The victim identified as Allan Oporto, 53, who lived in the barangay, was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect Pineng fled the area after the attack.
Police then conducted a hot pursuit operation and arrested the suspect a day later.
