CEBU CITY, Philippines – All registered senior citizens in Cebu City are set to receive a P500 Christmas incentive if a city councilor’s proposal is approved.

During his privileged speech on October 25, Councilor Pastor M. Alcover, the chairman city’s committee for the elderly, presented a proposal to mark the celebration of Seniors’ Month.

Alcover said that giving Christmas incentives to seniors is a way of recognizing their invaluable contributions to the community.

Moreover, the counselor mentioned that there are a few seniors who do not meet the eligibility criteria for the City’s annual financial assistance of 12,000 pesos, as outlined in City Ordinance No. 2453.
