AboitizPower Distribution Utilities, Visayan Electric inks industry partnership with USJ-R

AboitizPower Distribution Utilities (AP DU) has been a partner of the education sector for several years. This is part of the company’s commitment to uplift the lives of the Filipino youth and shine a light on their path to the future. On December 7, 2023, this commitment was further reinforced with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between AboitizPower DU, Visayan Electric, and the University of San Jose – Recoletos (USJ-R). 

The collaborative initiative between AboitizPower, Visayan Electric, and USJ-R underscores a joint commitment to advancing education and fostering the empowerment of the youth.

The ceremonial signing was graced by representatives from AboitizPower headed by Anton Mari Perdices, Chief Operating Officer of the Distribution Group, accompanied by Belen B. Catanduanes, Senior Assistant Vice President for Human Resources, and Raul Lucero, President and COO of Visayan Electric. Representing USJ-R were Engr. Roel Militar, Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department and Dr. Dennis Anthony Kilongkilong, Dean of the School of Engineering. 

AboitizPower Chief Operating Officer, Anton Mari Perdices, expressed his gratitude to USJ-R for fostering a collaborative environment for both institutions. “Through this partnership, we envision a future where education meets industry expertise to propel the region forward,” he said.

Dr. Dennis Anthony Kilongkilong, Dean of the School of Engineering also highlighted how this collaborative endeavor is not only a formal agreement but a commitment to nurturing future leaders in the field of electrical engineering. 

The collaborative initiative between AboitizPower, Visayan Electric, and USJ-R underscores a joint commitment to advancing education and fostering the empowerment of the youth. Future projects outlined in the agreement include collaborative efforts such as student immersions, On-the-Job Trainings (OJTs), and scholarship programs.
