CEBU CITY, Philippines—The Cebu Football Club (CFC) Gentle Giants eye a victory before wrapping up 2023 as they take on the formidable MacArthur Football Club of Australia in their last Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup game on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

CFC is officially out of contention in the AFC Cup after losing three matches and only logging one win and one draw.

The Gentle Giants are at No. 3 in Group F, just ahead of the winless Shan United of Myanmar. 

Meanwhile, MacArthur FC leads Group F and is already assured of a spot in the next round of the AFC Cup. 

MacArthur has four wins and one loss. It is tied with Phnom Penh Crown FC of Cambodia. 

Still, the Aussies lead Group F with their 15 goal difference over Phnom Penh’s nine. 

The AFC Cup match between CFC and MacArthur FC starts at 8 p.m.
