CEBU CITY, Philippines – New Bar passer Jigger Geverola is hoping to make it to the oathtaking and admission of the roll of attorneys on December 22, 2023, after he was released from police custody, so that he can become a full-fledged lawyer.
Geverola was released on Monday after the Cebu Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the Robbery in Band complaint the police filed against him, due to insufficient evidence.
Geverola was tagged as the mastermind in the daring daylight robbery of Oro Sugbo Pawnshop in Colon, Cebu City on November 25, based on the extrajudicial confession issued by the two accused, Jordan Baquiano and Dan Carlo Flores.

However, the prosecutor said that their statements were not enough to establish conspiracy with Geverola in the robbery.
“Lipay ko unya maka-process ko, kung maapas man, ang pag-sign sa roll of attorneys nga gi-schedule karong December 22 sa SM Pasig,” Geverola said in an interview with GMA Super Radyo DySS.
Geverola is positive that he can make it to the oathtaking, since the case has not reached the court.
“Actualy, posibleng makaya kay wala man maabot sa korte, wala tay clearance nga kuhaon kay wala man tay kaso nga na-file pa,” he added.
He added that he will also help in solving the case to penalize the real perpetrators.

“Mao jud akong purpose nga nagpakita ko nila gikan sa SWAT ngadto sa police station sa Argao aron lang gyud ko makatabang ug dili ma-divert ang imbestigasyon sa maong krimen,” he said.
Geverola also urged the police to conduct further investigation on the case to prevent innocent individuals from being prosecuted.
