TWO anti-illegal drug operations conducted in less than two hours on Thursday night resulted in the arrest of three persons and the confiscation of shabu in Cebu City.
Operatives of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) said the shabu seized in barangay Mambaling was worth P1.2 million.
Arrested were Rofer Fernandez, 29; Roque Conde, 31; and Marcel Laborte, 42.
The three were in the company of Allan Tabalen, who was the target of a buy-bust operation. Tabalen managed to escape, said Supt. Romeo Santander, chief of CIB.
Police said five packs believed to contain shabu were seized from Fernandez and Conde.
Laborte had an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol.
Police said they seized a big pack, five medium-sized packs and a small pack of suspected shabu from Tabalen’s house.
In barangay Lahug, police confiscated packs of suspected shabu from Joseph Roco’ residence. However, Roco and his half-brother Marvie Navalta Roco were able to elude arrest.
Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas recovered three medium-sized packs of suspected shabu, a .357 revolver, a .38 revolver and several bullets from Roco’s house.
Police said the estimated value of the shabu was at least P200,000. A search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Soliver Peras was implemented in the raid.
