IT will be a busy Sunday for Cebu’s running community with two big races lined up in different venues around the city.
The first ever Burger Run of Flame It! Burger kicks off at SM City Cebu while Primary Homes’ “Run To Build Their Future” unfolds at the Cebu Business Park.
Burger Run which highlights Flame It! Burger’s 13th anniversary, has attracted 800 runners while the Run To Build Their Future race drew 1,3000 racers.
The Burger Run which offers a 13-kilometer distance as well as 6k and 3k obstacle fun run is Flame It! Burger’s charity race for the Barangay Guba elementary school children and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Home for women.
Free bite-sized burgers will be waiting at the turning point for the 13k racers while a burger-eating contest will be held during the awarding.
The top male and female runners in the 13k race will take home P10,000 while the second and third placers will pocket P7,000 and P5,000, respectively. The top three group winners, composed of three male and two female runners who must finish the race together, will receive a trophy each.
Meanwhile, the Run To Build Their Future, offers 3k, 6k and 12k distances. The race will benefit the Primary Structures Educational Foundation Inc. (PSEFI).
The winners in the 12k race both male and female will receive P4,000 while the runners-up will get P3,000 and P2,000 respectively. The 6k champions will pocket P2,000 while runners-up bank P1,500 and P1,000. The top three 3k winners will earn earn P1,000, P550 and P500 while the first 50 12k finishers will receive specially designed medals.
Both races will kick off at 5 a.m.
