Five Cebu graduates top CPA board exams

Five University of San Carlos (USC) graduates and two University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) graduates were among the top 10 successful examinees of the recent Certified Public Accountant licensure examination.

From the USC are: Shaun Anthony T. Go, 2nd with a rating of 91.29 percent; Jaecelle Margrett G. Dy, 3rd with 90.86 percent; Jamaica J. Marjadas, 4th with 90 percent; Odessa Marie O. Allera and Rieland J. Cuevas, both in 10th place with a rating of 88.43 percent.

USJ-R graduates in the top 10 are: John Lester J. Lastimosa, 9th with a rating of 88.71 percent; and Bridjet A. Diaz, 10th with a rating of 88.43 percent.

USC was named the top-performing school with an overall passing rate of 88.06 percent. Out of 67 examinees, 59 passed. In second place was the De La Salle University with a passing percentage of 81.18 percent.

Only 2,132 out of 5,959 examinees passed the examination given by the Board of Accountancy in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi this month.
