FORMER Supreme Court Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. and chief negotiator Miriam Coronel Ferrer will be in Cebu on Thursday, May 28, to explain the proposed Bangsamoro Basic law (BBL).
The 9 a..m. briefing will be held in De Goma Hall in Camp Lapu-Lapu, headquarters of the AFP Central Command.
This is part of a national information campaign on the BBL, according to a statement from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
The briefing will focus on the basic purpose of the 2012 framework agreement on the Bangsamoro signed between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Oct. 15, 2012.
The PIA said about 50 media representatives are expected to attend the briefing.
Davide, father of Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, was one of the five members of the Peace Council, who was chosen by President Benigno Aquino III to review the proposed BBL and to give
recommendations to the House committees.
Ferrer is the chief negotiator of the government of the Philippines peace panel with the MILF.
