MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — Almost P10 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Mandaue City Police in Barangays Subangdaku and Centro at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a 46-year-old woman named Lolit, a resident of Barangay San Roque in Talisay City.
Confiscated from her was 1.025 kilograms of shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P6.9 million.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Mercy Villaro, spokesperson of the Mandaue City Police Office, said that they monitored Lolit for two weeks after her name appeared on the list of drug peddlers arrested in previous operations.
Villaro said that Lolit distributes drugs to different areas in Mandaue City, Cebu, and Talisay.
Meanwhile, the Centro Police Station also arrested a suspect known as “alias Yan-Yan,” a 22-year-old temporarily residing inside the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC).
Yan-Yan was caught with 400 grams of suspected shabu with a standard market price of P2.7 million.
Similar to Lolit, Yan-Yan was also arrested after being monitored for weeks following the appearance of his name on the list of arrested drug peddlers, said Villaro.
The suspects are currently under police custody while charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared.
