CEBU CITY, Philippines–All passengers of the ill-fated pump boat which capsized off the seawaters of Sibonga town in southern Cebu last night, were rescued and safe.

Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Sibonga, police and Philippine Coast Guard Sibonga sub-station and some fishermen rescued joined forces in rescuing the six individuals (not 10 as earlier reported) who were reported missing last night.

According to authorities, the group came from Sibonga after attending the interment of a relative but on their return trip to Mantatao in Calape town, Bohol, they reportedly encountered giant waves which capsized the pump boat they were in.

The six rescued individuals were identified as Federico Flores, 72; Desiderio Flores, 42; Devonne Flores, 15; Dereck Flores, Sarah Sacedon, 48, Atis Flores, 78 all residents of Mantatao, Calape, Bohol.
