CCMC agrees to forgo requirements for physical exams of detainees

The management of Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) agreed to forgo the documentary requirements for physical examinations of detainees.

This came about after several police and jail personnel complained that the requirements like court orders and arrest warrants delay the admission of detainees into the Cebu City Jail.

During this morning’s Police Coordinating and Advisory Council (PCAC) meeting, representatives from CCMC, City Health Department, police and Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) agreed to help expedite the process. The documents will just be submitted later on.

The city jail management also agreed to extend the jail’s closing time from 5 pm to 8:30 pm to give more time for admission of detainees from medical check up and examinations.
