THE POLYFLOOR seized solo first place in the standings after they bested Aqua Gloss, 74-64, in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association 1st Davies Cup last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.
Malvin Malicdem paced the winning side with 20 points as Polyfloor nabbed its fourth win against a single loss while keeping Aqua Gloss without a win in five tries.
Acreex also upset Stay Clean, 70-60, to move up to 2-3 (win-loss) in this competition.
Jun Villacorta led the way with 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Fusion did not break a sweat in getting its third win as it won via default over Elastogel.
Stay Clean, Elastogel and Fusion all occupy second place in the standings with their similar 3-2 cards.
Teams will once again play a single round-robin to complete to elimination round. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals with the top two finishers owning a twice-to-beat advantage over the third and fourth seeds.
