A 30-YEAR-OLD farmer was shot and killed by his neighbor several hours after his wedding in barangay Manatad, Sibonga town, southern Cebu.

Cheldon Diolan succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Police identified the assailants as Jayward Carpentero and Ray Lasan, 24.

Police later arrested Lasan in his house, while the other suspect remains at large.

The victim and his live-in partner, along with other  couples, took part in a mass wedding in the town’s parish church around 10 a.m. last Tuesday.

After the wedding reception, Lasan went to Diolan’s house and asked the victim to return the pliers that he borrowed from him.

The two men argued until Diolan punched Lasan, said PO3 Helbert Pananganan, investigator of the Sibonga Police Station.

About an hour after the scuffle, Diolan was attacked while driving a motorcycle on his way home.

Police said witnesses tagged Carpentero as the gunman who rode a motorcycle driven by Lasan during the attack.
