Cebu sent rescue group to Ormoc City

Gov. Davide has sent to Ormoc a team of four men of responders and rapid assessment team members, headed by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office Chief Baltz Tribunalo.

They will support, search, rescue and recovery efforts following Thursday’s sea accident involving the vessel MB Nirvana which capsized about 1 kilometer from Ormoc City.

189 passengers on board, 40 number passengers were reported dead, 20 remain missing and 11 unaccounted passengers.

The team will help transport survivors and casualties from Ormoc to Pilar, Camotes and other areas in Cebu.

The group left Cebu at five in the morning today with two choppers from the Philippine Air Force Central Command.
