Two men were arrested for allegedly breaking into the house of a doctor in Mandaue city and taking about P2-million worth of jewelry and P500,000 cash.
Dr. Joselito Go of Doña Rosario Village in barangay Labogon returned home on July 3 after a month-long trip to the United States, and discovered his house had been burgled.
After Go reported the break-in, police conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of Junvy Yap, 21, of Paknaan, Mandaue City.
Recovered from Yap was a belt bag with expensive watches and jewelry in it, including a gold bracelet which Go identified as his.
Another suspect, Carlo Saberon, was arrested at a checkpoint in barangay Tayud, Consolacion town Saturday night.
He was flagged down by policemen after the motorcycle he was driving matched with the plate number of a Suzuki motorcycle that was reported stolen on that day.
Seized from Saberon’s possession were several pieces of jewelry and an Omega watch that Go owns.
