3 robberies in 10 hours

Motorcycle-riding men strike in Mandaue City, flee with at least P47K loot

Motorcycle-riding robbers struck three times in a span of at least 10 hours in Mandaue City on Friday and fled with at least P23,000 cash and a cellphone.

The first robbery happened in barangay Labogon where two men on a motorcycle stopped near a money-lending firm’s  agent collecting money from a client. The backrider pointed a .45 caliber pistol at Rudy Puspos, collector of Star Lending based in Punta Princesa, Cebu City, and took his collection worth at least P3,000 and fled towards  barangay Paknaan. Puspos reported the incident to the police.

At 2:20 p.m. in barangay Subangdaku, two men on a motocycle robbed Henry Carulasan, delivery salesman of Park Ads Marketing, as Carulasan was about to deliver goods at a store.

Carulasan said the backrider pointed a gun at him and took his collection from his deliveries for the day worth P20,000. Carulasan was able to jot down the plate number of the motorcycle and reported the incident to police.

At 10 p.m. in Purok 4, barangay Cubacub, two motorcycle-riding men robbed a 20-year-old woman, who was walking home.

Novie Bigcas reported the incident to police. Bigcas said that she just got off a tricycle and was walking towards her house when the robbers arrived.

She said the backrider got off, pointed a gun at her and held her up.

She said the robbers took her cellphone worth P24,000.

Police are investigating the incident.
