Convergys Converters make it three in a row in E-League

The Convergys Converters sustained their fiery start, beating the SSI Warriors, 49-43, to remain unbeaten in the Elite Classic of the 11th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.

Convergys pocketed a third straight win behind the solid efforts of Lourenz Limpangog and Sherwin Resilla, who scored 16 and 12 points, respectively.

The duo also combined for 11 rebounds, six blocked shots, four steals and two assists as the Converters used a 20-9 third period assault to turn an 18-19 first-half deficit into a 38-28 lead after three quarters of play.

Lawrence Daven Agas finished with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Warriors, who tasted their second loss in three games.

In the other Elite Classic game, the Teleperformance All-Stars broke into the win column with a 72-61 tripping of the Wipro Tigers.

Marcos Genteli Jungoy III and Ryan Veloso both scored 11 apiece to lead the All-Stars, who seized control after taking off to a 21-12 start.

Both Teleperformance and Wipro now have 1-1 records. The Tigers got a combined 39 points from Franz Martinez (16 points), Reinario Salibay Jr. (12) and Daryll Teves Ouano (11).

In the Evo League, the Kyocera Frontiers nailed their second victory in three outings by trashing the 1-1 Marauders, 63-42, while the 24/7 Cagers salvaged their first win via a 61-51 domination over the Calltek Trojans.

Junrey Cabarrubias led the Frontiers with 16 points, while Ariel Ramonito Edera added 11 markers.

Jan Isiah Gabest had 17 points for the Marauders, who stayed winless after two starts.

Ralph Belarmino, on the other hand, powered the Cagers to the win by tallying 23 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. He was backed by John Erron Jurado, who netted 10 points.

Aerl Genebraldo exploded for 27 points in a losing cause as the Trojans, slid to 1-2.
