Supportsave Dragons crush 1&1 Marauders in E-League

Niño Belande posted another double-double game and the Supportsave Dragons picked up another win by crushing the 1&1 Marauders, 80-55, last Saturday in the 11th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball last Sunday at the CSC-C Gym.

Belande scored 30 points and collared 19 rebounds, nine coming in the offensive end as the Dragons stayed on top of the standings in the EVO League with their fourth win in as many games.

Belande also registered four assists and two steals. He had 21 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and three steals in the Dragons’ 64-48 win over The Results Spartans last week.

The Marauders, who dropped to 1-3 (win-loss), were led by the 17-point production of Jude Lorenz Camposo.

Forcing a two-way tie at the number-one spot with the Dragons are the Telstra-Teletech Boomerangs, who nipped the Contact Solutions El-Slazenger, 73-66.

Jaygard Vios netted 19 points, Ivan Figuera scattered 12 markers, while Ryan Paul Abordonado added 10 points as the Boomerangs bucked the absence of top gun Sam Jordan Hermos to seal their fourth straight victory.

Roberto Castro Jr. fired 18 points and Japhet Tuanzon delivered 16 markers for Contact Solutions, which tasted its second loss in three outings.

In the other EVO League encounter, The Results Spartans snatched their third win in five games by downing the 24/7 Cagers, 75-66.

Jade Seno powered the Spartans with 24 points and was backed by Kevin Gialogo, Charles Andrew Ybañez and Christopher Beronio, who wound up with 16, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

In the lone Elite Classic match, the Teleperformance All-Stars stretched their winning streak to three via a hard-earned 91-81 overtime win over the Accenture Sharks.

Dean Junber Escalon (19), Ryan Veloso (17), Cecilio Sam Jr. (12) and Kevin Clark Navaja (11) all scored in double figures to lead the All-Stars’ third win in four starts.

Archie Brian Vincent Batua paced the Sharks with 27 points but missed a golden opportunity to win the game for the Sharks.

Batua sank a three-pointer while being fouled in the last 4.9 seconds that tied the contest at 74-all.

Batua, however, missed the bonus free throw thereby sending  the game into overtime.

Ildefonso Bulangis Jr. scored 23 and Julian Kyle Suerte had 12 as the Sharks dropped to 1-2.
