Cebu pizza maker to upgrade stores, menu

Cebu-based pizza maker Da Vinci plans to renovate its stores and update its menu as part of its rebranding.

Carlo Yap, president of Da Vinci owner East West Fusion Centris, Inc., said the new shops are bigger and have more modern interior designs. Each shop required an investment of about P5 million.

East West purchased the business and its eight branches from the five Lee brothers in May last year.

“We had to close Paseo and Mandaue branch and open in two new locations, one in the new Metro Gaisano mall in Colon Street and one in SM Consolacion,” Yap said. Other stores are located in Marina Mall, Osmeña Blvd., Parkmall and Shopwise.

The company also introduced new products, like the Pan Gusto sandwich and the four-inch pizza called Pizza Piccolo.

Yap said they were preparing to offer the brand for franchising by next year.

“We are looking to add more branches, both company owned and franchise next year. So now we are aggressively marketing, expanding product portfolio and smoothing out operations,” he said.

Da Vinci now employs 110 people, almost double the 60 workers at the time that East West took over.
