Motorists and commuters in Cebu City should brace for minor traffic changes tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday.
Cebu City Traffic Operations (CCTO) operations chief Joy Tumulak said the changes will be made to ease the travel time of the city-tour of delegates and ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings here in Cebu.
No roads will be closed and there will also be no major re-routing of passenger jeepneys along the affected route.
Tumulak said some vehicles may have to turn to a corner or two from their usual route to pave way for the convoy of the APEC delegates.
“We just ask the drivers to understand the sudden traffic changes. They should instill discipline among themselves since we have our visitors. Same thing for the commuters, let’s just understand that this is for our visitors,” Tumulak told reporters.
Tomorrow’s tour in the city’s heritage and other tourists sites will be participated by 50 delegates.
Tumulak said the tour will start at the downtown area including the Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino, Magellan’s Cross, Parian, Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House and passing through Colon St., the oldest street in the country.
Tumulak also said the convoy will also visit the Sugbo building in the South Road Properties (SRP) and they will drop by the soon-to-open SM Seaside City Complex and then they’ll end at Radisson Blu Hotel.
The tour will start in the morning and end in the afternoon. On Thursday, the tour will only start at 2 pm until 5 pm since these will be participated by high-level ministers.
