Marijuana worth P5.3 M uprooted

MARIJUANA plants worth P5.3 million were uprooted in barangay Basiao, Badian town, southwest Cebu yesterday morning.

Law enforcers also arrested Ryan Dionaldo, 30, the alleged cultivator of the marijuana plantation.

The man is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Seized were 26,958 fully grown marijuana plants and 1,200 seedlings.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7, 5th Special Forces Company and Intelligence Service Unit-7 of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
