Warriors look to improve record in Cesafi football

Defending champion University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors will try to improve their chances of moving to the next round as they face the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters today in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) men’s football competition at the Cebu City Sports Center football field.

The 1 p.m. match is an important one for USC as it tries to catch up with the rest of the field in the team standings.

The Warriors are at the second to last spot in the standings with just one win to show in five games. The University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) is at last spot.

UC, meanwhile, looks to maintain its hold of second place. It is currently trailing 2012 champions University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R).

USP-F, last year’s first-runner up, also tries to stay away from last spot as it faces the University of the Visayas (UV) at p.m.

The champion team in the Cesafi football competition will represent Cebu in the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Smart National-Inter club U-22 tournament later this year.
