REP. Raul del Mar of Cebu City’s north district said seven out of nine legislators in Cebu signed House Bill 6627 creating the Mega Cebu Development Authority (MCDA).

During the Mega Cebu stakeholders anď leaders meeting at the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., del Mar said Lapu-Lapu City Rep, Aileen Radaza and Rep. Ace Durano of Cebu’s 5th district were not present when the bill was filed on October 9.

They have however signified their intention to support and sign the bill.

“Congress is on break now and will resume on Nov. 3.If all congressmen support this, we can get this approved right away,” del Mar said.

If signed into law, the MCDA will have metropolitan wide authority and supervision of all Metro Cebu local government units (LGUs).
