The Mandaue City Council has approved an ordinance granting P10.8 million for yearend cash incentives to all elected officials and regular employees this year.
Each official or employee will get P10,000 or an amount equivalent to one-month salary, whichever is higher.
Mandaue City Hall has 562 regular employees as of October.
The incentive does not cover job order employees, clean and green program workers, traffic personnel and barangay health workers.
“They don’t have civil service appointment so they can’t avail of the incentive. The law prohibits it,” said Councilor Diosdado Suico. The ordinance will be sent to Mayor Jonas Cortes for approval and implementation.
